United States
The home front of the United States had been dramatically altered after the attack on Pearl Harbor. Fear had gripped the citizens and so they realized that they will need to sacrifice in so that the United States would have the supplies that they needed to win the war. They did so by rationing various necessities such as food, oil, clothing, etc. They were each given "ration stamps" to limit the amount of resources that US families could buy. The American worker was very important if the United States wanted to win the war. The workers produced large amounts of weapons, vehicles, planes, ammunition needed for the United States military. A majority of these workers were women, due to the men leaving and joining the war. After Pearl Harbor, many Japanese Americans were stripped of their independence and looked into due to fear of Japanese spies. Nearly 120,000 Japanese members were sent to makeshift relocation camps. A major morale booster for American citizens was the "green light" letter in which President Roosevelt had written to the commissioner of professional baseball to keep playing as it boosted American morale.
