The Battle of Britain
This battle took place in Great Britain and was battled strictly in the air space of Britain. This battle took place between July 1940 to May 1941 and the heaviest fighting had taken place from July to October in the year 1940. This battle had began after the fall of France in 1940, the Germans were overly confident so they decided to attack with little planning. The Germans plan was to conquer Britain's airspace and then send ground troops through the English Channel. The Germans decided to begin their attack on Britain on July 1940, at first they attacked British airfields but then moved to attacking broader strategic targets in the hopes of crushing British morale. This plan backfired as British Morale was high as ever and when the Germans reprieved it gave the British air force the break it needed. The Germans continued bombing Great Britain for months however it was clear that the British had won and the Germans had to suspend their sea invasion indefinitely. This was a decisive victory for the British and it was the first loss the Germans had faced in WW2.
