Franz Paul Stangl
Franz Stangl was born in Austria-Hungary on March 26th, 1908. Himmler commanded Stangl to be in charge of the Sobibór extermination camp in 1942, Stangl killed around 100,000 Jews at this camp. Nearing the end of 1942, Stangl was moved to be commander of Treblinka death camp. Stangl helped to create large gas chambers while commanding at Treblinka. Throughout the Holocaust Stangl became known as White Death, because of the about 90,000 deaths he had caused. On June 28th, 1987, Stangl died of heart failure in Düsseldorf prison.
