Battle of Berlin
The Battle of Berlin took place from April 6th, 1945, to May 2nd 1945. This battle was fought in Berlin, Germany. The two counties that were involved in this battle were Germany, an Axis power, and the Soviet Union, an Allie power. The Soviet Union ultimately won this bloody battle. This was a very crucial win for the Allies and this victory ultimately led to the destruction of Nazi Germany. Germany losing Berlin caused Hitler and other high ranking officials to commit suicide. German casualties were estimated at around 100,000 and Soviet casualties were estimated at around 300,000. This battle was very crucial to decide which side would win World War II.
